Though my process of working has an important physical component, I go into the studio to pay attention to ideas that are pressing. These include science, tolerance, joy, commitment, history and humor. The ideas are most exciting when those from disparate disciplines seem to reinforce each other. I am of a personality type that has been described as a synthesis. I try to combine things that are not normally seen as compatible.
