Watershed Event, Myers School of Art, 2011.We understand and are committed to the fact that the primary reason for parking lots at the University of Akron is to provide safe, efficient and legal parking for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Although all parking regulations will remain in force for the duration of the project, the transformation of the parking surface will hopefully draw attention to the environmental consequences of our daily patterns of movement. We will create a collaborative document of the project including photographs and text describing what we have learned about the movement and collection of water on our parking lot. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for engineering, geography, art and biology students to work together to understand their environment.
